mills as naturally as possible

Today we have another typical Salzburger drizzle day!
And I am asking myself, how many of you have seen the film The Plastic Planet and the film about plastics on the ORF TV programme?
The ocean beds are looking bad and it’s the same elsewhere, too! But when I’m in the workshop at the Salzburger Grain Mill factory, I see lots and lots of native wood. And that smells so good, too! And Patrick told me, he only ever uses plastic material wherever it cannot be avoided.
The funnels of our mills are made from wood and so are the milling chambers (except the millstone supports and the mill-stones themselves, because there are no alternatives) and of course the outer housing (except the switch and the cables, as these, too cannot be made from wood!)
But otherwise the people here in Salzburg are on the ball and construct their mills as naturally as possible! As for me, I much prefer to nibble at a piece of wood rather than on a plastic bag!
That’s all again for today!
Safe under my umbrella

With kind regards
 Berti
